Brewmaster’s Note

Dear readers,

Summer is blazing hot, power cuts, controversies – Indian summer is mercury high for all the reasons. Can we be left behind?  Ofcourse, at Ginger Chai you can expect only healthy servings be it summer, winter or for that matter any season. But this summer is special as we have exotic mix of new flavours coming up. First and foremost let me thank all of you for your wonderful support and special thanks to those who make the extra effort to leave comments and lift our spirit!

So what is going to brew in Ginger Chai in the coming days?

We decided to add a bit of glamour. All this days we were entertaining you with our glamorous writings. (We are glamorous in that sense, aren’t we?)

Face of the week: Yes, we are going to feature upcoming models every week and pose them some special brew of questions.

Medical FAQ: We are not just stopping by glamour but go beyond it to bring a series of valuable must know article that may help us tackle real life crisis. This new series will give you information on what to and what not to do in a medical emergency situation till a proper medical care arrives.

Mobile reviews: We have successfully put in place reviews of cars and bikes section. So next in the lifestyle segment will be mobile reviews. With the mobile market buzzing with new technologies and new players, I hope you will love this new section.

I hope you all will enjoy these new segments. Do give us feedback when we roll them out so that we can correct and better ourselves.

Now moving to the next big change we worked in the last couple of weeks.

We have revamped Café GingerChai. We have added a discussion board and all the action pertaining to contests will happen there. You can also jump in to sip thoughts, discuss and network over there! A lot of things can happen over a cup of Ginger Chai, right?

As you know we ran the Finish the Story contest.  It was a big learning experience for us and that would help us in running the future contests better.

BLOGGERS PREMIER LEAGUE:

So here we are with a brand new and I assume a first of its kind contest in blogging world. Move over IPL and it’s  controversies – we are happy to announce BLOGGERS PREMIER LEAGUE. Yes, we are having our own league. We have worked out an exciting format where you would be displaying your individual blogging talent being part of a team and teams pitted against each other. More of it in couple of days – stay tuned to GingerChai.

Hope you like the new offerings from our GingerChai kitchen we have lined up. Special thanks to all my team mates for their support and enthusiasm. Thanks again to all our readers.

Flavours of Team GingerChai

Hi all !

Howdy people? Are you enjoying the sips? I hope you all are having a nice time lounging and enjoying the fare or menu out here.

Well I had something interesting to present to you today. No it’s not an article or a satire, no not even a fiction, rather it’s an… err… a little bit of mild self promotion if you don’t mind. I hope we are allowed to do that, aren’t we?

You are sitting through? Great! Thanks. I will take that as yes!

So as I was saying, Ginger Chai have now some new members and these new Gingibloggers have brought a completely new dimension to Ginger Chai by complimenting the old guard with their fresh out look. And so to give a new meaning to word Ginger Chai with the fresh new team and our fresh offering and flavours, we have assigned each of the members a particular flavour to go with their respective style of writings. So the offerings in our menu are:

We have two new entrants as two flavours of green tea.

Pranjal with his beautifully executed book review and Ali Zaffer rocking Ginger chai with his thought ful and sensitive debut. We are now waiting for more from them to see how our Green teas mature into.

Vidya Sury – She entered with a bang offering some tang and twang. Well of course she is our lemon tea, who gave us the much needed respite with her comic stories.

Pramathesh borkotoky- Our Assam Tea, promoting brand Assam at every possible opportunity.

Gayatri- who gave a completely new perspective to blogging with her caricatures and graphics. Always effervescent always bubbly, well what else can she be, but bubble tea. Yes she is our own fruity – bubble tea.

Anney Thomas- our latest crowd puller, her musings have given a fresh new meaning to fun and laughter in Ginger Chai. She is cool, she is spicy, she is sweet and to top it she is exotic, so what else can she be other than the Apple flavoured, cinnamon iced tea.

Sanjiv Vakharia- our chief contributor in the lifestyle category, the ever elusive, shy guy– just like the Darjeeling tea, the aroma and flavour felt, but rarely seen (slightly ironical)

Usha Amudan- Fresh and sweet, with her different perspectives and some of her health related concerns, now in China- well no doubt she is appropriate as our Jasmine Tea.

Ambi- Ah ! our Black tea- strong, good for your (spiritual) health, a bit bitter and strong on your taste buds , but  a great rejuvenator and something to perk you up instantly.

Radha Chandran- Soft, soothing,   engulfing you in a  peaceful and tranquil state of mind. She has inspired many with her writings.  She is of course our Chamomile tea.

Pumpkin Longshanks- Now what can I say about a pumpkin and that too with long shanks. Well that was a joke. But that is preciously the point, he is as weird, his writings as different as his name. Exclusive, distinctive and of course you have to develop a special taste for his ultra different works. And so, Earl Grey flavour for our dear ole Pumpkin longshanks.

Manipadma- Hmm! difficult to comment for obvious reasons. Unconventional thinking and attempts at other topics assigns her the flavour- long island ice tea. She may give you a heady feeling at times but mostly she may leave you with a nasty hangover.

Our founder Duo – Lakshmi Rajan and Divya. Both complimenting each other perfectly, they dared to translate their dreams into reality with Ginger Chai . Divya with her simple, girl next door style, instantly connecting with her readers, yet with a zing – just like cardamom tea and Rajan, the essence of Ginger chai, taking it to new heights with his earnest sincere and lucid write ups. A man who knows how to touch the right chords- anyday – just like the ever popular ginger tea. Together Divya and Rajan  came to form the perfect masala mix, with their eclectic mix of authors.

So here we are –the gingibloggers before you-with our new flavours- our relentless pursuit to regale you , to enthrall you, to amuse you, to laugh with you, to wipe away your tears, to fight your cause with the power of words and to create a beautiful world for you in Ginger chai . Just You, Me and We – happily ever after.

Now Running: Alice in GingerLand

With GingerChai having completed it’s 6 month run, we decided to have a creative promotional TV advertisement. We could not afford renowned ad makers like Alque padamsee or Prahlad kakkar nor the slot in TV space but will that deter creative chaiwalas that we are? ManiPadma decided to script our own play. So here we have our first in-house promo “Alice in GingerLand” . It’s a hilarious spoof based on the events,topics and comments so far in GingerChai land involving our wonderful authors. Let your imagination do the rest upon the script we have. Enjoy!

Coffee becoming Chai !

So finally I have booked a hosting space and registered a new domain.

Yes , its the name that i have taken to migrate Xpress Coffe blog

So Coffee is going to be Chai  (tea)  soon !

Earlier , I had booked a domain name YatYatY.com but when I ran a poll on the name , I found most of them did not favour it. So i decided to shelve that name and went for this new one.

I may need bit of time to understand and experiment with the technicalities and bring life to the new site . May be it will take bit more time to freeze the right look and feel . Anyways , am excited ! My blogging would be carried forward into new realms and have some few plans to make it more interesting too. Lets see.
