Three quarters back, we had reviewed Plaza Premium Lounge at Kempegowda International Airport and we were back again to the lounge to taste the new summer menu conceptualized by Chef Ankit Mangla.
A session with a chef not just tickles the palate senses but if the chef can also narrate his culinary experience and the art of cooking in a flourishing, engaging conversation it is total indulgence. Chef Ankit Mangla made sure it was a complete culinary experience with an interactive cooking session and even shared few of his cooking secrets.
I was welcomed with a refreshing Watermelon Breezer followed by a delicious pâte à choux with Ankit giving his own twist by including authentic Coorg coffee cream, giving it a signature local flavour.
The gastronomic delight continued with a healthy Piquant Grilled Chicken Salad with pro-biotic ranch dressing.
What always fascinates me at places like Plaza Premium lounge is how they make a culinary delight with the limited kitchen arsenal at their disposal, since the airport security does not allow a full-fledged kitchen to operate within. But the summer menu at the Plaza Premium lounge was a surprise in store.
The Bruschetta was a perfect antipasto!
and the Chef went on full steam with Asian Meatballs Satay with peanut sauce
And a perfect Egyptian style poach eggs …
and the sugar-free mango pancake was a satisfying end to the scrumptious luncheon.
The spread touched upon the local flavours to global recipes and makes for a delectable indulgence while waiting to catch your next flight.
