Chancepedance thumb Chance pe Dance review A struggler chases his dreams and succeeds finally.

This story knot has been told, retold, mixed, re-mixed in umpteen number of films in Hollywood, Bollywood and other filmiwoods across the globe. Director, Ken Ghosh, has taken this well-mashed script in this Shahid Kapoor-Genelia D’Souza starrer Chance Pe Dance.

We have heard the struggle many actors went through in their real life before becoming super stars and the movie tells about one such story. Since his growing years everyone fuels a dream in Sameer behl (Shahid Kapoor) that he will become a film hero. One day he packs up his bags and leaves to the film capital, Mumbai to chase his dream. Four agonizing years pass by auditions after auditions only to be rejected again and again, hopes crashed and an odd role for a lungi advertisement. Still, Sameer is never the one to abandon his dream. He works part time as a courier boy to support his dream. He looses job, looses the house. Makes his car a home (don’t break your head on how a homeless, struggler manages to own a car), manages a job as a dance teacher, in-between finds a girl friend in  choreographer  Tina (Genelia), joins a reality dance show and finally becomes a real star.

The very predictable storyline would have no chance but for the charm of Shahid Kapoor. Definitely, the director has banked heavily on the screen power of Shahid. He showcases his hot abs, fabulously dances, shows a very positive energy and vibrancy on screen and tries his best to infuse life to a dud script. Genelia is appealing. Music by Adnan Sami goes well with the movie flow.

GingerChai Verdict: Watch it if you are a die-hard Shahid kapoor fan else you can watch the Dance India Dance or other reality dance shows in TV and save your bucks.

What i feel it is an attempt to rip off School of Rock. I mean they can’t even copy paste a well made hollywood movie properly. Most critics have complained abt absolute lack of story. Doesn’t Ken ghosh realise importance of script writers ? do movies mean an extended version of music videos he used to make to him ?
