dance india dance thumb Dance India Dance Season 2 Dance India Dance Season 2 has started. This season promises to be more tougher and highly competitive for the participants. It’s not that the last season was cakewalk for the winner but the high standard set by the participants last year has pushed the level one notch up this season. Apart from the dance quality of the show another main reason I love this show are the 3 judges – Remo D’souza, Geeta Kapur and Terrence Lewis. They make the show adorable with their sheer presence, warmth along with their wonderful choreography skills. The chemistry between the threesome is awesome! Not to forget the extra zing in the presence of Mithun da.

Coming back to the story so far in season 2. Auditions were held in various cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmadabad, Kolkata and candidates shortlisted from US, UK and Dubai. I wonder how they left out a separate audition for Bangalore. Namma Bengaluru has good numbers of movers and shakers and a goldmine of dancing potential and hey the season 1 winner is from Bengaluru!

Anyways auditions happened and 100 people shortlisted for mega auditions. Under the eagle eyes of the 3 judges, 100 were further pruned to 36 candidates. 36 candidates were split into 12 group each (6 male, 6 female) into each judge’s team. These 36 people performed this weekend and each judge has to choose 6 members from their respective group (3 female: 3 male) Tough call for the judges considering almost all of them were equally good.

So the final 18 for this season are:

Remo Ke Rangeelay: Nikitasha Marwas, Bhavna Khanduja, Meenu Panchal, Shashank, Punit, Naresh

Geeta Ki Gang: Shruti Basakhetre, Binny Sharma, Teena Pradkar, Kishore, Dharmesh, Altaf

Terrence Ki Toli : Shakti Mohan, Vandana Joshi, Kruti Mahesh, Kunwar Amarjeet, Ameeth, Parvez Rehmani

My favourites at this stage: Shakti Mohan and Dharmesh, Nikitasha,

Catch the show in Zee Tv .

Timings : Friday – Saturday 9:30 P.M onwards. Repeat telecast on Sundays.

I dont feel this as high standard dance competition, the other dance competition on another channel was much better IMO. weakest part of that show was just Rani Mukherjee (YUCK! throwing flying kisses on each and every move). But choreographer and participants were good. But still i cant find good level in these competition, maybe because i am lucky enough to see much professional dance in my college (Ganesh Hegde, Loli, Pony were from my college and school).

Are you talking about Dance Premier League? Argh… no way you can compare DID with DPL. DID is way ahead of other dance reality competitions on all standards – talent wise, performance wise, choreography wise.

Having said that , Nikhil seems like you are from a college full of dancing legs :D

and DPL, show arranged by Shaimak Dawar, looked artificial from the start!

I saw only one part of DID so i might be judging this competition wrongly but still they would not even have qualified for our college’s dance team :) Yes Laxmi i am lucky enough to be in college and school from where such talent came out… even acting group used to win prithviraj kapur award every year …

Before you conclude based on one episode, you should watch few episodes to arrive at a judgement. The real show has started and see if you can follow it :)

final 18 at DID 2 are indeed awesome. What’s more awesum is that those in ‘stand-by’ by Mithun Da! and also some of the rejects like Chotu Lohar from Orissa etc. were equally good ! The show is great heart-breaker and wonder how judges manage t eliminate good dancers…..the show would be equally tragic for the voting public…

I agree with you on DPL. Its a big farce.

Judges as well as public are going to have a tough time in elimination rounds in DID2. Really a tough challenge for everyone involved.

This show is absolutely fantastic and all the participants are wonderful. Certain participants are not given a variety of dance forms. I would like to see shakti mohan in a new avatar.
