woman thumb Feel like a women – The darker side Foreword: The female of the species is always deadlier than the male.

His skin tingled next to hers- smooth and soft . Her lips , pressed against the base of his neck ,coursed a path of fire down to his chest.. Her tongue slowly caressing and teasing and just when he felt he was about to hold on no longer, she straightened up.

“ SEE you in class and Oh yeah! Thanks for the notes.”

With one fluid movement she slided into her sheath dress.

He asked from under the sheets as she started to go out of the room. “When am I going to meet you again?”

She turned back from the door and with a coquetish smile said, ‘ After you award me full marks in the internal assessment, Professor”

- The seductress.

Saree, Bindi, Trinkets, Bangles- A picture of calm serenity. The perfect bride was seated at the footend of the massive mahagony bed, wherein lay the matriarch, her mother in law, half sitting, half reclining.

“ Choti Bahu( the younger of the daughter in law) is young hence acts irresponsibly, Maji.(mother).Ok I admit she is abit short tempered and…she should not have answered you back, but then Maaji, she is too young and has been an only child”

Her mother in law kept silent with a grim expression.

She continued in her honey sweet voice“And again Badi di( The elder daugter in law) is so competent. It is not her fault if she acts arrogantly after all she is so capable and clever compared to me. She is so confident that she does not need anybodies advice while stupid me, I keep on disturbing you by asking for your opinion on everything.”

“ I have already made my decision, Majli. End of discussion”. Said the old lady shifting slightly

She came out of the matriarch’s room minutes later- A smile of triumph on her lips and the coveted keys playing on her long slim fingers

- The Manipulator.

“ Why? Why? Why are you marrying that stupid b@%*h? I had always been there for you . What’s wrong in me?” She shook violently in rage.

“ come on get a grip on yourself. I had always thought of you as a friend and nothing else”

“ Shut up !” she screamed. “ Good line, huh?A friend? Why you f@#$%*g bastard! You knew how I felt ,Then why did you lead me on?”

“ I didn’t lead you on, you moron” He was losing his cool at her rantings. “ You were hanging on to me like a dog. Now just get out of here”

With venom in her eyes ,she walked away, a dozen watchful eyes on her. She shut herself in her cabin for almost an hour.. After crying her heart out, she wrote a long letter, picked a few photos from her purse- of him and her in a wild office party- drunk and dancing together- sealed them in an envelope and copied the address down on it from the invitation card. Not for a moment did her hand waver. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

- The vengeful Virago

She stared at the bland dal and rice and then timidly said, “Auntie, Do you have any more of the sabzi that munni is having?” “No, its finished”Her aunt replied irritatedly. She has become irritable and grumpy after her husband brought their nine year old neice, following her parents sudden demise. She spoke very less to her husband and lesser still to the newcomer, prefering to stay occupied with her eight year old daughter.

“Munni,my sweet, come here.Let me oil your hair” she cooed, then turning to her neice, “Finish up soon and clear the table and the kitchen”

In the kitchen when she was cleaning up , she found a covered bowl. A tear trickled down her little face, when she uncovered it to find that it was the sabzi.

- The over protective mother hen

Both Tatya and Parmarth waited for her decision, so did their scores of supporters.

“Parmarth and I go long back. He has stayed loyal throughout. I cannot desert him.”

Parmarth’s handful supporters cheered. Tatya left without a second glance. After expressing his endless gratitude, Parmarth left too.

“Tatya would have been a strong ally. Parmarth’s days are almost finished. He is old.and does not have a heir too. He is not bringing us any profit either. Why are you sticking out for him?” her right hand man asked.

“As you said Parmarth is old and we should help him retire soon so that he can lie down and rest in peace. . But till then I cannot desert him. A powerful leader has to make a show of principles once a while..But for the greater good we have to accept Tatya after Parmarth”She sighed.

“But will Tatya come back to us then?”He inquired intrigued.

“Oh don’t worry! Tatya and I have developed a very deep understanding”

“When do you want the job done?” he asked

- The ruthless Don

Afterword: This is a follow up of a piece that I had written earlier. Feel like a woman. There the female characters were shown in a brighter light and acted as an inspiration. But there are two sides of a coin, so I have projected the darker side of the fairer sex in this piece. It was an experiment I was apprehensive about. But Rajan encouraged me to go ahead. So If you like it, then I would like to share it with Rajan and if it is brick bats then, Ouch! RAAAAAAAJAN! Where are you? I told you it wouldn’t work.

I liked the flow in the seductress part.

P.S. Women are always better than men, in whichever field they try. There is a vedic saying, “There is woman on both Aadi (Start) and Anth (End) of Sristi (Nature)”.

Ummm… me dumb, took me two reads to understand that the title is below the text of each section. Lol!

Women are strong.Agreed. But No comparison can be made between men and women. Circumstances bring out different facets in a character be it any gender. A women is a Mother,a wife, a sister, a lover,a care-taker, a home-maker.She is the women’s worst enemy.
But the characters you brought about are the ones that bordered on negativity. Which, perhaps!, every man wants to see in a women who is not her mother, sister or wife….
    Good creative post…
