Morning I woke up and switched on the TV. There was flash news in all the channels: Jet reinstates employees.
So the drama has ended as of now. Looking into the whole issue, it just seems like one big tamasha – Naresh Goyal apologizes on screen. Talks about sharing the grievances of the employees. Talks about the hardship the aviation industry faces. Finally the whole Jet tamasha of last two days hints at eyeing the bailout package. The last two days drama is all about the now globally infamous B word – B for Bailout. Our aviation industry wants a share of the B pie.
The hire, fire, and hire again. Jet displayed its ABS syndrome – Attention Seeking Behavior Syndrome. What else one could conclude seeing the last two day’s show? Naresh Goyal is a shrewd businessman. He very well would have known prior to the sacking of 900 employees and further announcement of 1000 more that its effect will be echoed everywhere and there will be sensationalized coverage in the media and also politicians throwing their weight in the show down. He would have anticipated all this. Still he went ahead, why? Answer is simple – To make the demand of Bailout vociferous. To make the common taxpayer, whose money will go into the bailout, believe that their industry is hopelessly bleeding and they want a 25K bailout package imminently or else all the kings of good times in flying will come down shattered.
If Jet was keen in cost cutting and layoff, it would have done it meticulously and without catching attention by laying off people in small numbers rather than one big layoff which is unprecedented in Indian aviation history.
Anyways the tamasha ended today. One thing for sure, aviation industry can boast of the glamorous workforce of all industries! It was a visual treat to see the protesting employees! All were looking chic smart, well dressed and glamorous! No wonder, TV channels were vying each other to get a good coverage!!!
Oh and I almost forgot a side tamasha of the whole episode. Raj Thackeray batting for the very own “outsiders” of Mumbai whom he was vehemently opposing last few months! Politicians can outwit chameleons!

One thing I wont understand, America is the capitalist country, thatz why their govn come forward and help them and even at the time they file bankruptcy. But India isn’t. and why communist party is keeping mum. isn’t right time for them to protest?
Ya next we can expect similar calls from real estate lobby , retail lobby and banking lobby ..
and the silence of communist is mysterious ! as if they are partners in crime and keeping mum lol ..
