This is one programme I eagerly wait for . This year’s Indian Idol edition has started. Indian Idol 4′s preliminary rounds are on air. There are many reality based singing competition programmes in various channels like Indian idol , SaReGaMa , Voice of India etc but for me Indian Idol scores over others as a total entertainment package. Going by the previous editions of various singing programmes , the quality of voices of contestants in SaReGaMa and Voice of India is definitely much better than Indian Idol but then there is a complete polished package value in Indian Idol editions. So am a Big fan of Indian Idol and look forward to it every year. Last year though i was disappointed by the final winner of the Indian Idol ( Amit Paul , the runner up deserved to win the competition finals but then sms voting from the homestate of the eventual winner Prasant denied the rightful winner ) neverthless , i look forward for TRP chart topper entertainment programme.
The preliminary rounds are much awaited episodes when they have auditions in various indian cities . It brings in all colors of emotions . Distress , compassion , rejection , anxiety , sadness, depression , sluggishness, timidity , bewilderment , longing , desperation and comedy moments , laughter . All are on full display. Some makes u laugh your heart out with their over confident display of singing with no obvious voice quality to support it , some comes up with attention seeking antics , some awe you with their other talents in dance , mimicry etc , some dressed up weirdly , some cute moments , the judges brickerings etc all makes a good watch !
This time there is a change in the judges panel. Ofcourse the mainstay Anu Malik and Javed Akthar are there. Instead of Alisha chinoy , we have the lovely Sonali bendre. ( shez my favourite bollywood face !) and we have a fourth judge in Khailesh kher. So we have 4 judges this time.
Last year’s contestants Chang and Deepali are anchoring the show this time . I hope Hussein and Minu , last years anchors , are back atleast when the programme enters the later serious rounds. I don’t think chang and deepali could be a worthy replacement for them. Who knows may be they can surprise me too ?!!
Anyways , Indian Idol has started . Kaun banega this year’s Indian Idol ? Lets look forward to the comming weeks .
