Foodguide thumb 150x150 Tamarind ReviewLast wednesday being holiday , we thought of going out for lunch with parents. We decided to go to Tamarind multi cuisine restaurant in Outer Ring road , near Ramamurthy nagar junction. This place has been there for many years.

One would from outside look most propably dismiss the restaurant as so so kind. When we entered the restaurant , it was refreshingly green. It had a small greenery span with plants , shrubs and green cover with a small landscape with japanese style bridge to compliment it. The sides of the mini garden housed the restaurant area. We took a table on the right side with a view of the garden. There is even a tree top seating for couples . Next time i should take a seat over there.

The look inside was simple and rustic with terracotta tile roofing. The menu was extensive. We being vegetarians sticked to the vegetarian options. We ordered Tomato soup and Sweet corn vegetarian Soup to start with along with masala papad. My wife and me spooned in tomato soup and my parents sweet corn soup. Tomato soup was good . My parents found sweet corn soup a bit sweeter. Neverthless , they liked it when garnished with pepper and salt. Masala papad was of the regular kind. Can we do anything extra with masala papad ? Well , i dont know .

My wife and I seived through the menu. We ordered Paneer 65 , Dal Makhani , Veg Dopiaza , Achari Vegetable sabzi , Paneer kulcha , Methi Kulcha , Butter naan .

Achari Vegetable Sabzi is something new for me. Never heard of any sabzi made with pickle till date. So i found it interesting . The waiter said its bit sour ( coz of achar in it ) I decided to go for it just fascinated by the idea of pickle in sabzi.

Your order takes time to come . I was wondering if it would be worth the time as i was getting very hungry by that time. My dad had his own foregone conclusion for no reason that only non vegetarian dishes will be good here !!!

The food arrived after some 15 minutes. Paneer 65 was the first to come. No complaints . It was spicy and ok. Paneer was tender and good. First litmus test seemed to be on positive side. Then came the big surprise . The paneer kulcha ! It was one of the best kulchas i have ever had ! Simply Yummmy ! The much awaited Achar Vegetable Sabzi was innovative too. It had mixed achar along with vegetables . One cant have it large servings but then along with other sabzi it is worth trying atleast once. My wife found the dal makhani to be authentic according to the north indian style . Well , if she says so , i would agree coz being a north indian she knew their kind of food better than me. I tasted Dal makhani separately and found truth in her words. It was tasty !

We all were so hungry that within no time we emptied the kulchas and naans !!! We ordered more of Paneer kulcha and a bowl of Jeera rice. My dad had to chew back his initial apprehension about the food here . My parents simply loved the atmosphere and the food.

Overall , the food was good. We found it worth the money spend . Value for money , light for stomach and yummy for taste buds .

For those who looking for food and alchoholic drink , they do have a separate enclosure where they serve food with drink.

So this is a restaurant for all kind of people . Taste bud satisfaction guaranteed.
